Club Achievement: Team Club One Fifty Participates in Tough Viking

A number of our members participated in an 8K obstacle course race – Tough Viking Stockholm Stadion 2016 – early in May. It was a cloudy day with air-temperature of around 12C. The already low temperature was significantly lowered already at the 2nd obstacle – the Ice Tank with 2C water.

Almost 5,000 finished the race and were awarded the massive and desired medal.

Our Club Director had a GoPro strapped to his chest to capture the action. Watch the 12-minute clip below.

Club Achievement: Member Participate in a Mud Race

Our Club Director participated in Tjurruset (“the Bull Run”), a muddy 10K race in Stockholm, Sweden. It was a popular event with more than 5,000 participants on day 1.

“It started off as an easy trail race, but the swampy last 5K was really tough and muddy and wet. You get the picture. A great challenge and a great race.”, says Ulf.

Club Event: Mixed Invitational In Tennis 2014

Club One Fifty’s annual tennis event – Mixed Invitational In Tennis – was this year held outside of Stockholm, Sweden.

The format of the tournament was a round-robin session of mixed doubles with alternating partners, followed by a grand finale. After many tight matches, the great tennis players Anna and Frank emerged as winners (see picture). Well played and many congratulations!

The tournament was followed by the traditional banquet dinner –  with the not uncommon intense and exciting discussions about subjects high and low. ‘Long life’ and ‘tennis’ were mentioned more than a couple of times.

We look forward to welcoming you all again next year and hope that there are more tennis playing members that join us. Thank you all for a great time.

Club Achievement: Members Participate in Half-Marathon

Achievement.HalfMarathon.20140426A couple of our members, Ulrika and Marlene, have participated – with impressive results – in Women’s Health Half-Marathon in Stockholm, Sweden. The race was popular with more than 2,000 enthusiastic runners.

“It was tough, but great fun, and the crowd was fantastic!”, says Ulrika.

Club Event: Golf Trophy 2014

Event.GolfTrophy2014.4Club One Fifty’s annual golf event, the Golf Trophy, was this year held in Sueno Golf Club, Turkey. The two great and challenging golf courses, the Dunes and the Pines, witnessed some thrilling golf played by our golfing members.

The tournament played over two rounds, stroke play (with max), and the winner by a narrow margin was Cecilia from Sweden (see picture). Congrats and well done! We’ll chase you next year.

We had a great time socializing, dining and playing golf. Intense discussions high and low – is playing golf really supportive of a long life? Which is the ‘best’ physical activity? What is a more relevant measure of body composition than BMI?

We look forward to welcoming you all again next year and hope that there are more golfing members that join us. Thank you all for a great time.
